The pandemic was hard on every church and Summit was no exception. When combined with some critical leadership failures, it brought our church to the edge of extinction. Since August of 2022, our Elders, staff, and members have rallied together to seek God’s healing and guidance into His preferred future for us. We now see that God is calling us into a season of Restoration, where He will Reclaim our Past, Redeem our Pain, and Restore our Purpose as a Church.
Restoration is a season of unified prayer, church family engagement, and sacrificial giving, from November 19, 2023 to March 31, 2024. This unified journey will enable us to aggressively move into the future God has already laid out for us. Whether your part is prayer, serving, connecting in community, or giving, we know that partnering together in obedience to Jesus is the central point of God’s Restoration process at Summit.
Together we will see the glory of God!
Unified prayer is the first and most critical component of our Restoration Journey! We believe God is eager to move among us, so we are building a team of devoted prayer partners who will join our “Summit at Seven” team. These people will set a daily phone reminder for 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and then pray for Summit’s Restoration journey twice per day, every single day! Together we will call on God to fill us with His Spirit, move powerfully among us, and resource us with everything we need to follow Him into His future for us.
Prayer meetings also occur every Saturday morning at 9 a.m., where we can call on God together.
Restoration is a community effort!
We believe God wants everyone who calls Summit home to participate in His restoration work. If you attended Grace Community Church or Summit Church in the past, we invite you to come home and join the journey for a season or for a lifetime. If you are completely new to Summit and want in on the fun, come join us!
You can do this by attending faithfully on Sundays, participating in a community group, and by serving in ministry with us. We believe some will consider a 1-6 month Ministry Volunteer role, where you help grow our student, children’s, creative, adult ministries, or community outreach for a season of time. Expanding our ministry capacity, inside and outside the church, is a huge part of this journey!
We are asking God to raise at least $200,000, above our regular tithes and offerings, in this Restoration journey. These funds will help us move forward quicker with parking and landscape improvements, Student Ministry redesign, Coffee Bar upgrades, Children’s ministry resources, and so much more. This will also close the current gap that exists between income and overhead, relieving short-term financial pressure.
We will also be giving a monthly tithe of all Restoration income to serve vulnerable families in our area. That means with God’s help we will be investing at least $20,000 into the needs of vulnerable kids in our community through local ministry partners. Each month of the campaign will support a different ministry partner.
